I Had a pretty good early morning bite on a shallow wooded shoreline ended up with 22 .I left my good camera at home. Here is a pic of some of them .The big fish is a 4 1/2 lb. channel cat ,yes SS 4 1/2 pound channel cat on Livingston. That is the biggest channel I have caught in 25 year on the lake. http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg117/slimeontheline/april26.jpg

dbullard that is about 1 & 1/2 lb bigger than any channel I've caught on Lake Livingston, that is a great catch and all those in the pic look like a good size. I caught some pretty good channels this morning but they were scattered from my usual spot, I ended up with 7 and about a dozen white bass. My freind who went to the beach with me last week found my camera in his car so as soon as i can get up to Nacogdoches I can post some decent pics again.
Have you tried in the evening any?

SS most of the fish were 2.5-4 1/2 lbs.I caught 5 or 6 off the bottom in 3ft later in the morning but most under a cork 12"-18" in less than 2ft. I missed about half a dozen trying to fish to many rods.I have not fished the evenings since last Sat.

A North wind kicked up and kept me at home with arthritis acting up. So they will have to wait untill Saturday when my dad and some nephews come down from Fort Worth to give them a try. Fishing should be good if no more cold fronts push down.

SS looks like another front coming in Friday I hope it don't hurt them to much.
I will still be trying them Saturday or Sunday.I got a new depth finder that should be here before the weekend to install.

Hey guys...are those really channels? Dont see any freckles on the smaller ones. Those look like what we call "humpbacks" (bluecats) Smaller heads and deeper bodies at the dorsal. Check the third one back and the last one in the first pic. Personally prefer the humps for eating. They dont have the fatty yellow flesh along the top of the back, especially around the dorsal area. Regardless of what they are, I'd be gettin the Crisco hot right NOW! Nice Catch!!

Micaels only one is a channel cat the rest are blues. The one at the front of the 1st pic and the middle of the 2nd is a channel .The bigger channels I have caught are more of a greenish yellow colar and have lost there spots.

dbullard, my dad and a couple of nephews are coming down Friday night and I hope to roust them out for an early morning catfish trip Saturday. When those cats slow down we will hit the whites to finish up the day. If you get into them good, like you have been, call me Saturday night and I would like to come up and fish with you if you can stand the company.

Will do.I am pretty sure I will fish Saturday and if the bite is good maybe Sunday also.
I got a new Eagle gps/sonar I need to install and play around with.Last weekend was the first time in about four weeks that fished my normal spring time spots and they normally produce better as the blues get closer to spawning .
