dbullard called me about 4:30pm and told me the body count for the morning bite, 20 blues R&R solo, go get em dbullard! He got hem ealry on the bulkhead/bank and followed them out a little deeper later.
He said that he was going back this evening with some jugs. Now that is catfishing!, I hope to hear a killer report in the morning.

He's a tough one, out there with all this wind. I guess if I had a big enough boat, I'd probably be trying it too. Looks like I'll have to wait til tomorrow night to throw my jugs. I will be throwing them though. The moon is just right to be fishing for cats.

Well I never made back out Thursday to windy. This morning was brutal we did end of with 10 and had one that looked to be between 10-20lbs roll the water and break the line. Here is THURSDAY'S CATCH.NEVER GOT THE JUGS OUT but the wind is going to be light and back from the south in the morning and will be back at it. http://md26.embarq.synacor.com/service/home/~/0417081129a.jpg?auth=co&id=6260&part=2

I guess that I didn't miss much going down to the surf and trying bull reds today, caught none. Caught a few big whiting and plenty of hard heads, may have to try the cats in the morning. The front has hade more time to clear out, and maybe the wind will not be so brutal.

Saturday was not good for me .High pressure blue bird sky?We ended up with 9 Sat. MORNING.I went back out Sat. Afternoon and got 4 blues around 3 lbs right off the rock along the river channel.Tired and came home. All and all nice to be out and Thursday morning was awesome I have caught more before but the quality of the fish was great.http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg117/slimeontheline/april1708001.jpg

Fine batch of bluecats dbullard. i went this moring and worked hard for 10 mixed blues and channels. Must have lost my camera at the beach, what a beach! The shad were deeper even early this morning, must have been the cooler weather.

I fished 20 or so jugs last night outside of Penwaugh marina and caught 7 that I kept. I threw a couple of eaters back, but the bulk of the catch was smaller cats. I caught 15-20 of them that were just too small to keep.

My cousin had another 20 jugs a few hundred yards from me and caught 2 keepers. I know they are in there. Something just wasn't right, cause they were not biting.

Oh well, maybe next time.

I went to the surf at Sea Rim area and fished hard with the best surf fishing bull red catching, mullet flinger of all time (that I know of), Bigfost. He fished four surf rigs and I did too, we didn't have a run between all day(8:45 to 3:45) with the best bait, caught mullet in the cast net, bought crabs at Marie's, and I swear they looked better when we pulled them in than when we cast them. Not only untouched but polished!
Bigfost sent me am email and noted that some people he talked to had driven all of the beach and nothing had been caught. And that it was "Neap Tide" I think that that means that they are little tides during a cetain full moon.
Even on the on the 2cool,board not much was happening Saturday, fishing was bad in freshwater or salt.
It was better today, I worked for them but I caught 12 good cats, mixed blues and channels, and went back this evening and found the white bass for the firt time this year in the lake. After I got honed in on them it was everycast for about 20 then hit and miss for a while longer. they were chashing shad up against some rocks in 6' of water. A big, "Little George" worked best , smoked up from the bottom, and when they slowed, crawled across the bottom. I also did well with a chrome Rattle Trap. Some were 13 and a half " most were12" or smaller. I kept 15 good ones. they should get on their spots now and be able to be caught with some predictablity.

now gator gar you had to see me out there somewhere...i probably seen you too....and yea the same here.....lots of shad in deeper water but nothing biting....and the shad didn't run Saturday morning...I did catch a couple of nice cats....4-5 lbs mid day Saturday. I had the white 2 liter jugs just a little north of penwaugh. I call the area the college kids because there's a house there with a bunch of college kids in the summer.
I had the kids with me and it was dead...sure was disappointing. I would have liked to get off into the catfish with the kiddo's. One of the young guys sure was enjoying the fishing. He had a blast catching little perch. But I couldn't get him on any good catfish at all. Even went out Saturday night....I should have been in bed. And no white bass yet. I think the cold front messed things up a bit.
oh well, everyone had a good time so I guess thats all that matters. We didn't catch to many fish but we caught a suntan.

That's why I didn't even try. It's not every time but for me it's most of the time. and that's enough to keep me at the camp.

that is what i heard because of the high pressure and full moon that the fish weren't biting. That would be my question. does the full moon and pressure affect fishing that much....or was it the cold front?

But I do know what I know. Last cold front and every cold front. You could bet that fishing stinks and it wasn't always a full moon.
