Rookie Fly fishing?

[TX CHICKEN]

I fish the Port Mansfield area and I have seen small tarpon (5-10 lbs)and some snook to about 3lbs-in the marina at daybreak but I have never had any luck catching them on traditional equipment. I was told to try fly fishing with a small popper--What would a basic fly set up cost and any other recommendations on fly or lure choices would be greatly appreciated...

I do have some experience fly fishing for trout up in Wyoming so I do know the basics of casting--I will try and make it up there to check out the show. Thanks for the info.
