Get the video by Doc Ski. It shows every detail of the process step by step. Doc Ski uses tape to hold the threads but I can't keep up with my threads doing it that way. Thats why I use a loom.

There used to be a guy here in Austin that had some awesome looking redfish weaves he had made. He also had some Texas flags etc. His shop closed though....bummer!
