Caravelle boats

I am thinking about buying a Caravelle boat. Anyone have any experience/opinions on these boats? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

My neighbor has one, he has had a few problems. He has the Volvo motor. 1st year had to replace bilge pump. Also had shifter/throttle problems hanging up. Took it back to dealer, they suppossedly replaced cable. Continued to have problems. Dealer was useless. The problem was within the shifter. The factory shipped new shifter and cables and another dealer installed them. He has also had several problems with the fuse holders. The fuses become loose and have created some electrical problems. Also had problem with bilge switch that needed to be replaced.Overall he likes the boat.We have seemed to have gotten most issues taken care of. The Factory has been very helpful and supportive to him with warranty parts.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know who the dealer was where he had the service problems? Was it Kroll's in Rosenberg. They were the ones showing the Caravelle boats at the boat show.

I just dont like the name. seem like decent boats though. there is a dealer right down the street from my house.

Actually I think this dealer was in Katy area.

Matter of fact, now that you asked, the dealer he bought his from does'nt sale them any more.

The shifter problem was there from the beginning, it was very stiff.

Can't say about the boats but Kroll's has been nothing but good to me, anything I needed done was taken care of right away. My boat was used and as/is, but they went out of their way to make me happy!! Tell Gary and Garrett hi for me if you come down!!

Thanks for the reply, Rick. Kroll's is one of the dealers that I am considering buying a boat from. That's good information.
