About 20 years ago, my friend's dad use to take us to Stafford to fish at this creek. There used to be alot of corn crops next to it and a concrete bridge that went over the creek. We used to catch some nice catfish on shiners we would catch with a castnet and nightcrawlers.

From memory, we would go down South Main all the way down to Stafford/Missouri and would stop at a small bait shop to buy the night crawlers.
I believe this little shop is now repairing reels and such.

Anyone know where this creek/bridge is located?

Thanks for any help.

Lots of changes out here the last 20 years in Stafford. The bait shop(Rainbow Bait and Tackle) is gone. There are 2 places that kinda fit your discription. One is the American canal and you can access it from Musphy Road or Dulles Avenue. The other place was Oyster Creek off of what is now Lexington Blvd but it used to be off of a county road. This place was a bridge built across a spillway and is now private due to alot of trash being left there by slobs calling thierselves fisherman. You can still fish the creek in several places from Oyster Creek park on Highway 6. The American Canal can be very good esp when they are pumping water through it.

The farm road sounds familar, as I remember seeing alot of dust on the way into that bridge/spillway. I'll try to do a little map searching now that you've given me some direction. Thanks again.
