I am going to try fishing for some big cats on the north end of Livingston/Trinity River near Riverside this weekend using throw lines with perch or mudcat as bait. Anyone have any ideas on the best places to put the lines? How deep?
Thanks, BigT

Thanks SP, Have you had any luck in this area? Just curiuos if this area is even worth trying.
Has anyone at 2Cool ever cought anything BIG is this area?
I don't get enough time to fish when I am up there, but yes I have had luck in all those places especially if you can find an eddy present. My inlaws go there every weekend(their place) & I will be back up ther Nov 11 weekend. Their neighbor Ricky targets the stumps near 10'+ of water & he has at least 3-5 cats over 25# a week on Live Blue gill. Lately I have been targeting gar on rod & reel and had pretty good luck on 3-5# eating cats on whole small shad. If you can get some fresh large shad and cut them in half they are great for blues. Hope u have a successful trip.

Sounds like the BIG fish might be there. I have never really tried for the big ones. Like you said the small blues love fresh shad, I have cought plenty of them.
I have a place there also, very close to Bethy Creek. Seems like I have more trouble catching the bait than anything else!
