Ok, I've never posted down here before as I know absolutely nothing about R/C and if I were to get into something else to occupy the non-existent spare time in my life, especially something that could get as costly as R/C, my wife would have my head!
But I do have a question. I just bought a "swimmer" duck decoy. Extremely simple design: 4 AA cell pack with one red and one black wire going to a tiny motor with a sealed shaft out of the back of the decoy to the prop. No on/off switch, just put the batteries in and it stays on until you pull a battery.
Is there an easy/cheap method of installing a remote on/off switch into this decoy? I know that I can wire in a simple toggle, but a remote would work much better.

If you like to tinker...I bought a kid's r/c car at the Dollar General store for ten bucks. It has limited range, but I see no reason why you couldn't gut the operating portion of it and use that to turn the duck on/off ( it turns the motor on the car on/off).
You might also want to get real creative and modify the duck with a rudder and use the car's steering mechanism to operate the rudder. I bought mine with the intention of modifying it to use it for a movable camera platform. I have NOT torn it apart as of yet.

Gimme that duck and Ill have it doing 60!
Going remote means youll need a transmitter, receiver and something like a servo to trip a toggle switch or a speed controller to shut down the power.
But like Rich say's, you can pick up a cheap radio shack or toys-r-chinese-us car and tear it down. Making it all work would be a challenge bro! Better yet, Ill build one! :D You have a link to the duck so I can look it over for room? Or a pic? I have a few rc things laying around here... LOL :)
