Well, I've ventured into the jungle on lake Livingston. I put in there at white rock creek and went under the bridge and headed for the jungle.

I caught some nice shad at about 5:30 this morning below the dam. Still 7 gates as of that time this morning. I went to work and iced them down and by 5 oclock this evening I was setting those trot lines.

I didn't see a soul on the lake side. There were a couple on the creek side, but not much activity anywhere aroung there. What I did see was plenty of stumps and trotline jugs. I guess those people up there don't worry about their white floats with their name and other info on them. I'm legal and you can sure tell it, from a mile away. You talking about an open invitation for a thief, well my trotline is like a calling card next to those tide and clorox jugs.

Anyway, I'm fishing as we speak. I'll get up early and see what happens. Catzilla, I did see those limestone cliffs you were talking about. I might have to give them a try.

Talk to ya'll later.........

All in all it wasn't a bad first trip. I caught six cats and four were pretty nice. I used those small thread on shad from the Dam yesterday, so I'm sure they came off the hooks pretty easy last night. All the hooks were empty of bait.

My wife and I left and started messing around with the new cast net she bought me and a found some really good looking shad up by the bridge. So I went back and baited back up. I don't know how they bite in the day time, but I'll be back with some bream tonight and fish one line with shad and the other with bream.

Hopefully having a better bait that will stay on the hook, the results will be a little better.

I had a buddy that fished below the dam yesterday and him, his daughter and son in law, limited out on catfish there. He said they were all nice sized cats. He said there were five gates open. The white bass were biting really well up by the cable too.

Sounds like you will be having a good catfish supper.

You & the wife had a fun time together.

The brim on the trotline should increase you catch size. Looking
forward to a monster Gator.

Yea, we had a good time. She is my right hand woman. She said this morning, that she would make a better night fisher, than a day fisher.( She hates getting up early) She is already trying to back out on my next trip this evening. I guess I might have scared her when I said we were going to fish below the Dam, after I bait the trot lines.

Oh well, she hangs with me the best she can, I have to give her that much. She is an awesome, wonderful woman, I can tell you that. I'd be lost without her.

Likewise Gator . A tribute to your Wife .

My wife & I look back at our early fishing years, fantastic times.

We still plan to wet a hook once in a while.

Anyhow, looking forward to your results.

My wife says to tell your wife hello and to hang with your husband
you are creating excellent memories.

but that trotline stretches on out there. There are so many floats on it, that you could probably see it from a jet flying over.

Hey, a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. You let those hooks hit bottom and there is no telling what you would hang up in. I floated it out, as I was letting it out. Seemed to work pretty good. I haven't hung anything but a catfish, so I guess it's working just fine.

Try some Beef Heart or live perch.
