Just thought I would post some pics of a recent duck hunt with BlueNBrew and Chickenkiller on 1/8. Nice bag of birds including a banded sprig shot by BlueNBrew. We finished the season in style this weekend and this morning as well but didnt take any pics.

Nice hunt. Was that a goose spread in the field behind you?

No Chuck. That was the real thing. They hang around the house later in the season when food gets scarce.

I see that smilin mallard in there. Thought you could hide it, didn't ya. Ask Boriack how he screwed me out of my Bull sprig on Friday evening, by shooting, of all things, a friggin' ringneck.

Beautiful pintail. I was looking for one like that this season to put on the wall.

James,
Boriack is a fool, doesn't surprise me a bit. He would cut feathers on a spoonie hen with a flock of mallards lined up right behind the spoonie. I was hunting down on the bay last weekend (excellent hunting) and I hunted in one of my blinds two straight days (evening hunts as well) and I couldn't help but remember Boriack hunting in that same blind with me just a few years back. I just kept remembering how he couldn't hit the bottom of the blind he was standing in - oh wait, that may have been chickenkiller.

I would have to set up there the next day and kill a few.

On top of the pintail fiasco, he had to borrow my rifle to shoot hogs. I will give it to him, he smoked three little piggies through the jugular every time, even though I kept telling him to shoot 'em behind the ear. He kept trying to tell me my gun was off. Yeah, right. Y'all going to run that pretty Cabo in the Poco this year?

We do plan to fish POCO this year. We are hoping for a little "Beginers Luck" if you know what I mean.

I am trying to talk Casey into putting the Cool Sea in it this year. I figure what the heck, we would definitely be the fastest, and the boat has the range to fish off of Venice if we want to.

I hope you can convince Casey to do it. You definitely would be the fastest boat in the tournament and speed allows you to fish just about anywhere. Keep twisting his arm. I'm looking forward to the new Cabo simply b/c we will have more fish days and the range is pretty good as well - 2 day trips to the spars and not having to carry fuel bladders will be nice.

I forgot to mention that we opted for the A/C on the helm deck which will be a plus as well. You can step in from the 100 deg cockpit and find some pleasant 74 degree weather. I'm getting old and soft I guess.

yeah, actually having a bed indoors would be a welcome change from most of my overnighters the past few years. Nothing like trying to sleep on the open deck in a bean bag covered in tuna blood. A/C on the helm, you are going to turn in to one of those captains that never leaves his seat and just yells at the deck monkeys all day.

It could ruin me James, I wont disagree. The real truth is that you wont be able to pry me out of the tower - assuming the seas aren't too rough. I wont know how to act being elevated up above the water where I can see my baits and pelagic predators moving in to the spread to take a peek at a potential snack.
Bean Bags, the stinky smell of flying fish sliding around on the deck, and a good view of the stars is still hard to beat though.
