Has anyone ever heard a Glasspack muffler on a diesel? I have my 94 Ford 7.3TD straight piped now but was just wondering how the sound would change if I added a Cherry Bomb muffler. I also heard the Hummer rims, H1 and H2 would fit on an older ford 8 on 6.5. Any truth to this or advice on the muffler would be great.

Why bother with any muffler at all, the turbo wheel makes a pretty good muffler as it is. I've heard plenty of Dodge Cummin's with only a straight pipe from the turbo back, and they were not objectionable in the least, and not too loud either. I'd stay away from a glass packed muffler as they have a limited lifespan, especially in a diesel where soot will pack into the glass wool material and make it sound like it's not even there after a few months. It you do want a muffler, go with either a chambered design, or a straight through baffled chamber type muffler. They'll survive the soot much better than a glass packed muffler will.
