Can you help me on a good boat ramp to fish off of?
I just want to catch a couple of cats or anything would be nice. We want to check out the Colorado River.
I'm not sure about all the rain though the water might be rushing too fast this weekend still.
Has anyone caught any fish at the Buesher State park?
I heard they stock it with rainbow trout.
Our weekend property is 5 minutes from there. Its a real nice park I think. I'm just thinking out-loud here.

Buescher State park pond is aggresively stocked by TPWD with channel cats every year. I fish a number of similar ponds, and i think that they are one of the best, yet most under-utilized catfishing resources in the state. I fish these ponds 1-2 times a week, and never come up empty. This summer i have caught fish up to 9 pounds from ponds 2 acres or less in size.

If you fish the pond at Buescher, take a number of different bait/rig options. I have caught fish on everything from live sunfish to little bread balls this summer. Most consistent success has been on Magic bait's Great Scott Liver and Cheese balls (available at Wal-mart), hot dogs, and frozen shrimp, fished on slip bobber rigs anywhere from 4-7 feet deep. if you can get some Danny King's, use that. I will as soon as I can get some. BTW, on that old standby nightcrawlers, I have only caught one fish.

Good luck,
Brian
