Both circle and kahle hooks seem to work great on jugs in my opinion.

Circle hooks for every thing but my crappie pole.
I saw a report from one on the state fish and game deptartments ( not Texas) that stated 38% more catches with circle hooks. Also about a 60% better survival for released fish.
Just read it a week ago and can't find it now. Just had my glasses 5 minutes ago and can't find them either.

Circles. My first attempt with the flagging jugs involved kahe hooks. Out of 30+ fish we hooked that day, all but 1 or 2 were foul hooked underneath the mouth. Lots of dropoffs when pulling the lines up, including a 20+ pound yellow.
