I read the stories, and see the fish caught by a bunch of old guys like
myself. I had a grandfather who taught me how to make stinkbait.
He took me to every river in oklahoma as a kid. I will never forget the recipe
or all the fun fishing trips. I have small grandkids of my own now. Its easy
to not hassle with taking kids fishing. But I want to tell all of you, that
you will be blessed taking a kid, any kid fishing. theres something about catfish,
that kids just love.Take a kid fishing next week!!

I'm looking for a good spot to take my kids. I gotta say, I'm kind of dumb on finding catfish. I've been up to Conroe and fished the 1097 bridge, but the most I've caught is like 5. We use worm mostly and we love to catch bream. The bad thing is I've got a small boat so we only take one kid at a time and it's hard fishing with 3 of us in the boat, much less with the other 3 kids.

I need a good bank spot that's not too far from Houston. Thinking about maybe Deussen Park on Lake Houston and chumming the water with Milo. I've got some that's been brewing for about 2 1/2 weeks now. Someone suggested the crappie barns at Lake Somerville which sounds pretty good.

Any suggestions?

1097 bridge gets a lot of fishing pressure and I haven't done real well there either. Go to the stumps in Peach Creek and fish around them with chicken livers. Look for all the trot lines. You cant miss em. Find a tree and tie off. Chum with sour milo or corn if you like. Keep fishing with worms and you can also catch perch(bream).

I can't help with bank or pier fishing. Sorry.

You got it P Pa. Id rather watch a kid catch 1 fish than me catch 10.
