Got a 221B (232) Mako 1992 with a single Yammy on it. Want to look into repowering it with twins, but when we looked in to it about 2 years ago, they said the bracket could not be altered or modified to accomodate twins. This is not the integrated bracket, but the Armstrong bracket that allows for the full transom. Does anyone know of any jobs that have been done to turn a single bracket into a twin engine bracket by modifying the bracket and not replacing it? Is this possible or not advised?
Thanks.

Call the manufacturer. www.dadmarine.com (http://www.dadmarine.com) is a good source and they will give you some good info too. They are reasonably priced for a new bracket also. www.classicmako.com (http://www.classicmako.com) has some great people with a wealth of knowledge on it in the forums section under project boats.
