I have a 99 Dodge 4x4 extended cab that I would like to keep around awhile. It needs some work and I have a couple of questions: Can anyone suggest a good body shop/painter in the Katy area? Can anyone suggest a good mechanc for tranny work in Katy area?

As for the body work, give Golbow's Garage a call. They are off of Franz Rd and Mason Rd North. They've been working on my Inlaw's vehicles for a couple of decades now and have always done an excellent job.

As for the tranny work, I'd give Katy Automatic Transmission a call. They are located off of Hwy 90 and Ave D in old Katy. They rebuilt the tranny in my 96 Ford PSD last year sometime and haven't had a problem with it since. Their price was certianly comparable to any other mechanic in the area as far as I could tell.
