Fished today with Bob and his son Corey from Cypress, TX. Corey wanted to learn how to hold a fish, remove a hook, clean a fish, and safe ways for handling fish. He go 50 chances to learn, as they managed 50 fish in the cooler by noon.
Corey beat his dad, Coreys big fish 3.96#, dads big fish 3.92# fish. A nice morning on the water, fish were 15-18 foot deep.

One month till Fall, cool fronts hopefully will be coming, and fish will move to their fall patterns then.

I'm sure glad to here that trip worked out Weldon. I knew you could put him on the fish.

I don't know if Corey will ever read this, but, in case he does:

"Congratulations Corey. I knew you'd have fun fishing with Weldon and do a great job catching fish. It was obvious you were a REAL fisherman, when I saw you pull that monster catfish out of the neighborhood lake!! Great job buddy!!"

Your neighbor,
Brad

Great trip, Weldon! What did you do for cleaning the fish? Did you clean them at the park or go to the baitcamp?

The Power Plant Lady that quoted me the policy...sent me an email explaining that you could clean fish on the shoreline as long as it is not near the swimming area...so,
I jack knife my boat, so the truck and boat are on the parking lot, and the tail gate is over the grass between the parking lot and the lake (I take that to be shore since I see people standing there fishing sometime), and I stand in the grass and clean off my tailgate on my table top. I also have a copy of the emails I received from teh power plant people just in case someone questions it.

From what you said, it sounds like the lady there at the park hasn't been giving you any hassles.
