Colorado River Report

Well I was not going to fish the river this weekend, but had a buddy call, from Conroe, he was wanting to catch some fish. He came down and brought bait with him, which I was very impressed. We put out out lines, Friday, Fished Friday night, and Sat night. Put out about 40 drop lines. Baited with perch, gold fish, and mud cats. I even cut up some big mud cats that went about 1-2 pounds. That was pretty good cut bait, it tore the channells up.

Ended up doing pretty good caught 20 yellows, 5 blues, and 28 channells. We stocked him for the winter. One yellow went 41 pounds.

I live about 15min from the colorado river in altair maybe I need to hit it more..

I am trying to figure out how to post pics, I have some good ones this year and from last year, I may catch a hard time about CPR on some of the yellows.

We do throw a lot of yellows back though, we know how many fish fries we are going to have during deer season at different ranches so we catch enough to get us through that. I am pretty stocked up right now, just taking a few friends to get some fish.

My fishing buddy fished Saturday night, they did pretty good, had 6 yellows biggest was 18 pounds, 7 blues, with one going 23, and a bunch of channells.
