View Full Version : 07 Dodge Question (horn)
I have an 07 dodge 2500 Cummins 4x4. When I back up to the barn or a trailer I often leave my door open. Is there any way to turn off that d@mn back up alarm?

Ford has a button that has R on it, not sure about dodge
I think the bullydog programer has a way to turn it off, the dealer wont do it for you....bluewaterho has the programmer and I think if I remember right it would turn it off.....

I sold the BDDL, but I cant remeber if it had that option. I dont think it did though. There is a jumper you can makd out of 12 guage wire and plug it in between on the seatbelt conection. The reason the dear wont do it is DC had some stupid lawsuit cause some jackass killed someone.

luco,
dodge sent me a recall notice about that..when you back up and leave your door open the horn and lights will go off..i have a 2004 2500 cummins..call dodge and ask if there is a recall on the 07 models..they have to install some software update..
My '07 hasent done it yet. I've seen where some guys reverse the driver and passenger front door wires and it stops. But, when you leave your keys in the dash it won't ding when you get out.

I also thought that you had to have the parking brake engaged or something like that.....

My 06 Dodge did that also. I talked to a couple of Dodge service advisors and they can't/won't program the computer to stop it. What I did was cut the negative wires going to the both horns, and wired up a toggle switch in the cab which cuts off the negative power to the horns. I simply flip the switch when backing up with the door open and then flip it back on afterwards.
