I have a Nissan Titan that i need a receiver hitch for. I have nothing back there now, no wiring harness, hitch, or ball.
Called around a few places, quotes i got were $190, $265, $320, and $400(all installed prices + tax).
Why the disparity here? Are some of them not including something i need or adding something i don't need?
They all 3 said, thats for 'everything installed'.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what a current fair market price for a receiver hitch/ball and wiring is these days?
And that should be all i need right? Just the receiver hitch w/the ball and the wiring, right?

Sorry for the lame questions, just haven't ever had to deal w/one before.
And if it matters, its for pulling bay boats 18-22', So i've been told i need at least a Class III hitch.

Thanks.

buy a class III, the II is kind of a mutt for add ons

reese and valley are name brands to look for

get a brand specific not universal hitch

try to get the t-type plug and play wiring harness rather than cutting into your existing loom.

by all means don't let them use the scotchlock crimp thru type connectors

ck your torque on the frame bolts after a few trips, these do work loose after the hitch settles in.

The hitches are easy bolt on if you have a good wrench, use a torque wrench 90 ft-lb. I had the dealer install one on my Tacoma, and all they did was go down the street and buy a aftermarket class3 hitch and bolt it on and charge me 250 bucks, where I could have bought it for 110 dollars and done it myself as I have done on two other vehicles of mine. I would check out a wire harness that probably plugs into your current wire harness from your dealer. Else go pay the 350 bucks and not hassle with it.
