Ended up taking my 8 year old with me this morning. Mom let him play hookie from church camp. We ended up with 38 huge bream and 3 channels. To ruff at the bridge to do any cat fishing. Great day with my son. Sorry that I don't have any pictures. I'll try to learn how soon.

Great Story, Any time spent with the children of our future is a blessing, love to hear those stories.
Not trying to hyjack your thread, but I love bream, and good sized ones. Can anyone show me or give me coordinates to catch these li'l fishies. to me they are what I catch when the catfish have slowed down, but I would think that are certain places on the lake to just fish for bream. Can some one help out and old cat fisherman?
God Bless,

Kurk,
I asked a guide at Achorage marina last Wed. and he gave me a few places to look. Pretty much any where you can find 4 to 5 foot of water. I have found them mostly between Bentwater and Walden around the boat stalls past the island. I hope you can figure out where I am talking about. We, my son and I fished for almost an hour before we found them. All 38 came out of one spot. Last Wed. they were more scattered. The biggest we caught today was around twelve inches. I to like to catch catfish, but there is not much better than whole fried bream.
Good Luck

You'll be cleaning for a while, but it sounds like a good dinner!

I'm going to take my son up there on Monday. How were you rigged? Bobber with a pinch of nightcrawler? I've been using drop lines (2 #4 splitshot 6 inches above a #8 hook) with worm around the pilings of the 1097 bridge. Been catching some nice ones, but not the monsters I had caught in the spring up by the dam.
I was just using a #8 with a small split shot With a small bobber about four foot deep. Fish the boat docks and decks out over the water. We had our best luck when I found a gap between two docks that went all the way to the bank. We would cast as close to the bank as we could and then slowly drag it back to the boat.
Good Luck,
I hope your son cathces the biggest fish!!
