Does anyone know where to buy buoyancy foam in the Houston area? Preferably Billet type 2' x2' x 4' preferably. But, anything will do.

Do a search on www.thomasregisterdirectory.com (http://www.thomasregisterdirectory.com) Or google "Polyurethane Foam Blocks in Houston" Make sure you get closed cell. The blocks are pretty expensive but if you can get some 2 part pourable Polyurethane that would suit you better.

Thanks for the input. I would prefer billet. We are wanting to build sponsons for a fiberglass boat. The billet could be shaped and glassed to match existing transom.

Reel Bender,
I had a little time on my hands this morning and did a little research on the Billets in Houston. I couldn't find any. At one time I did some research on a simular project as you and called Dow for the information on my application. They will point you into the direction of sales. If I have some more time today i'll do a few more searches. I'm kinda interested in some of the billets for other applications. Sure would make some nice fishing floats. When you do the project let use know how fiberglassing to the EPS works out. If you haven't fiberglassed to the stuff, might want to talk to Dow about that too. Good luck on the project.

Well, I found th buoyancy foam at a place in Clute.
We finished the project and have been real impressed with the results. We have reduced draft by minimum of 5 inches.

I work for Apollo Paper Company here in Houston. We distribute a ton of PE,PS & PU foam from a company called Houston Foam. Give them a call at 713-224-3484 and tell them a guy from Apollo Paper gave them your name. They will definitely be able to help you out or lead you in the right direction.

Looks like a good job.
Wht are you gonna do about the color difference.
It ought to get up plenty shallow now.

We decided to use the gray gelcoat on the sides. We were not sure we would be able to match the white. We might add some stripes between the colors.
Porbably just remove the old decals and leave it as is! LOL
BSL, hell i don't remember the name, i told em what i was doing and they said you need this. LOL
That looks bad to the bone.
