my stradic is making a scraping sound when i reel it in it was dunked so im guessing thats the problem maybe some sand got in there so can i take the gears out and clean them off and spray with corrosion x and put some grease?
and if that dont work i may be shippin it off to shimano for a cleaning how long does it typically take to get the reel back from servicing?

I would check the line roller bearing first. This can cause all sorts of noise and is typically what will fail first.


I would be carefull removing the gears in our spinning reels. They develop a wear pattern and once disturbed the reel will not feel the same.

ok so if i was to send it in how much would i be charged for new gears and service? do you know or would i have to call?

We charge $20 + parts with an average repair cost of $27-30.
