I have (4) Citicas - (2) 200D and (2) 200DSV that are about a year old and I have never torn them down all the way to clean them. I have read many of the posts here and think it's that time. I went to Academy last night to pick up some Shimano oil and grease and saw a maintenance kit they sell with ne wdrag washers, oil, grease, and a bearing to replace a bushing. So, naturally now I have questions...

Does the addition of the bearing make much difference? Or should I just buy oil and grease and clean and lube what's already there?

(1) of my reels I han't get the spool access open. The latch turns but the side plate will not lift. Anyone have any ideas how to get it to open?

(1) of my reels makes a clicking sound and is rough when reeling. The best I can tell it is caused by the level wind dragging on the guide rod. When you reel you can watch the level wind move to a certain point each time and then it hangs and drags the bar with it. Once it can't move anymore it releases the bar and makes a clicking sound. If I put a drop of oil on the bar it will go away for 30 or so casts and then it's back. Any ideas what's causing this one?

Both problems have been happening since the reels were fresh out of the box. They still work fine, just annoying. I love these reels otherwise.

Please send the reels to us for the free level wind upgrade. This will eliminate the clicking noise you have.

The service kit is for the older model Citica reels. This kit is not for the current D or DSV model.
