reel storage...drag question

I can go months at a time before using my gear. I always clean it and store inside. When I put my reels up, I loosen the drag all the way...is this wrong? I read where someone tightens the drag during storage.

Good question, I always loosen them as well cause "I heard" that if you don't you can squish the drag washers.

good ? I always loosen mine up, always heard that when you keep it tightened down causes the washers to compress flat and you loose thier spring

When storing the reels for extended periods of time you should back off the drag.

hey Bantam on the subject of drags which is better when placing the washers edge to edge or rocker to rocker

I face them opposed like this () Either way doesn't make a difference but they come out of the factory the way I have it shown.
