Stratic 4000 backspinning

? I have a Stratic 4000 that will sometimes freespool when setting the hook .

The switch on the back of the reel works, but sometimes it still free spins ?

I also sent a castic reel back to shimano to be cleaned when I got it back it is still grinding when you cast it . I have not called the service center but I will tomorrrow .

The anti reverse bearing is slipping on your Stradic and will more than likely need replacement. If you are spraying any oil on the reel please cease to do so. The oil will cause the bearing to slip.


Contact our customer service department and they will make the neccessary decision as to what needs to be done with your Castaic. It can be difficult to catch the squealing reels after repairs are made. We will address this and your reel will be repaired.
