Just aquired some roller guide poles. They have Fin-nor guides but the guides are frozen. I am not familiar with these rods and need some advice. Are the rollers supposed to spin on the tiny 'axle' within the guide? If they don't can I repair or is a replacement in order? Where can I get the replacemant parts if needed? These are big game rods made by Fred Heide in West Palm Beach. How do I rate these poles as far as game capability and test. Thanks Paul

Never having owned a set of those, but knowing the reputation of "Fin Nor"
I would say that they need a good cleaning....I'd go to the Fin Nor website
and look for some instructions/diagram on disassembly and cleaning...Those
are HIGH DOLLAR Roller Guides...I'd say you have a really nice rod...Unless
the other components are messed up some way...
As far a how to "Rate" the rods I'd look at the guides they probally have a
Model/part nr on them....then go to the Fin Nor website and they probally
have certain guides matched with certain "Rod Line Classes" 12-20; 20-30;
30-50; 80; and 130-Unlimited lb line test, that should give you and idea of
what size line & reel to match them with....
You might see if the rod manufacturer has a website and he may be willing
to give you some info...

No numbers or other ID on rollers. Was able to get them apart and broke the largest roller. They were frozen in place and had to tap the pins out. Went to Fin-Nor web site with negative results. Awaiting an answer from them. No help at Mud Hole. thanks to all. Paul
