Rigging my speargun

I bought a new speargun a while back have just started working on getting it rigged. I am not real sure what is needed just yet...anyone got any experiences to relate?

Mine did not come with a reel, but I see many rigged that way....How much line should be on the reel? Should I just use some small diameter nylon line?

scuba or freediving?

scuba you don't need a reel, freediving you will.

I live near Friendswood, but work in Greenway...don't mind driving either way....
