Well, I filled up my 2 GB card this morning. Shot about 400 pictures.

Many came out OK...and some few are worth sharing, I think. Arlon; Gator Nutz and his bride; Fishphoto (who's photo I missed! ) and I gathered at the gate at opening time. It was a fun walk with really nice people. I'm glad that I arose before dawn to do it and hope to see all of the "crew" again, soon.

Pictures are below, in a couple of batches. I was disappointed that I missed some "bird in flight" shots. My Sony H5 does a better job (IMHO) with spot focusing on moving objects. I may have to learn more about the S3 to duplicate the Sony's results....

regards, Rich

p.s. 99 % of my shots were with the the (new to me ) Canon S3 is, with the Sony 1.7 tele-extender attached.

Bird in flight. These birds were a LONG way away, as the others will attest...

All very nicely done Rich. More proof that you made the right decision on your new camera. I really like #2 and #3. I had a shot similar to #2 but was not nearly as closeup as yours. I did not even see the baby birds until your shot. The flying one is excellent as well. The cardinal is great too. I have been trying very hard to get a good cardinal shot and just can't seem to get there. Great job. Have fun up north and take lots of pictures.

That's pretty cool. Your shot #2 was so far off for me I didn't even try one... It was too much hassle to dig out the teleconverter.. I think I'm going to look for a ST P&S for my new bicycle camera.. My one shot of the cardinal was no better either..

Looks like you are doing fine with the new camera. I just kept going back to look at #2. Very striking image.
