anybody been to conroe lately?

just wondering if anyone has been doing any good there lately. i was before those two strong fronts we had, but havent been since with everyone in my family getting sick. Needless to say, but i couldnt go after they got sick. had to stay home to take care of them.....hopefully i will be going thurs, fri, and monday. thanks for any reports in advance.

Fished Conroe Thur (4/16); 12 nice channel cat between 3-5 # in appox. 5 hrs.; threw back small ones.. It was slow but steady. Fish were scattered; relocated after 30-45 minutes. You should be able to catch a limit now.

go down and look at capn post's. He and Medulla have been tearing the fish up on conroe.

It was slow this weekend. Medulla fish all night with a friend. When his friend had to go, they still hadn't caught a fish in one of our main holes. After dropping him off he found a little different spot, he said he had the best 2.5 hours of fishing in his life with bites as soon as the bait hit the water and lots of hybrids, too. But, at daylight the bite shut off just as suddenly as it started. Three of us managed about 25 by 10:30, and it was DEAD from daylight until about 9, when we started catching them fairly steady till it was time to go. It was a very strange bite.

Most of the fish we caught were STUFFED full of what looked like sand. Upon closer inspection, there were fish eggs all mixed in. Only a couple of the catfish had eggs, too, whereas two weeks ago all of them did. I think the spawn had the bite off, and the channel cats were feeding more on fish eggs than shad that morning.

Fished there Thurs. In the mornin g we fished for cat. shallow. Caught 23 on cut shad. Also that afternoon we went bass fishing and caught 15. largest weighing 7.4
lbs.

We went Saturday and caught 16 catfish before the wind picked up.

Went a few weeks ago and caught some white bass and Hybrids. Got there too late for the bulkheads...

I fished last Monday evening from 5:00Pm to 10:00Pm, from the dock's at the Yacht Club at Bentwater. The fishing was slow and only caught a few cat's . All of the fish caught were small side 2 & 1/2 pounds, kepted three for supper the next day. I caught throw back's were caught next to the bulkheads. The keepers were caughjt in deeper water.
The slowness may have been because all of the bait we had was shrimp and worms.
