Catfish Rookie

Me that is! How do I make those juglines that lay over and then stand up when you have a fish on?
Also, what is the best trorline bait? I've heard perch and gizzard shad (even though I don't know what a gizzrard shad is, but what about stink bait or homebrew type baits? This old timer at the boat ramp had a mess of catfish and said he baited is trotlines with hot dog weenies soaked in flour and minced garlic.

never tried it but i would guess if you are not useing live bait small weight will do the trick and when the fish gets hooked it will pull on the jug making it nose dive into the water
