Best hook for big Cats???

Went catfishing Thursday night, had 3 runs, ended up with empty hooks.
What is the best hooks for big catfish, I need some sure enough hook up hooks if they pick up the bait and go..

Suggestions???

I have always used khale hooks, the size depends(at least 5/0 or bigger depending on bait/method used)

I've always use Eagle Claw 5/0 circles.

Depends on your style. If you are a set the hook kinda guy, a large kahle hook. If you are patient enough to engage the reel while it's in the rod holder, and leave it lone until it's bowed up good, then a large circle hook. 5/0's will do it.

Sounds like you may need to downsize your hook/bait first. May be small fish not getting it all in their mouth.

capn, that's my style, I like those circles and I like to wait untill the rod is bent over and line is striping off before I pick up the rod. I have gone to using 11/0 circles with large gizzard shad/big cut bait on at least one rod for those really big bad boys.
