Joe,Katnip,William,Bottomline...I been readin' on the Kerr site that shad are being caught w/o probs...Spring/Summer shad are easy on Gaston,but, in the winter,I lose 'em....in fact,I've been know to ride down to Nutbush Bridge in Carolina to get 'em.Gimme some stuff that might be applicable to throwin' for wintertime bait on Gaston....THANKS.

NightTrain...This past Sunday I was skunked on big bait...every hole I'd been catching them - zippo, just the day before was one of the better days I'd had for bait, lucky I had some left. Amazing how quickly it can change. I could mark em in the deeper part of coves and creeks, just didn't have the right net to get on em. JFO posted some nice info on Kerr site, apparently, I wasn't the only one that had trouble getting bait on Sunday. The small stuff was everywhere, but the 8 - 12 inch shad had backed off into some deeper water, I had been catching the bigguns in the real shallow water in the 1 - 3 ft range early in the mornings, in the very backs of coves/creeks or on red clay banks...JFO, Katnip, and BottomLine are the experts...here's a link to JFO's post http://pub30.bravenet.com/forum/2554406034/show/366741 Willy

It getting deep in this here room, I better roll up the britches....the night I met William, his wife was tossin the net over off the dock while we "men" jaw-jacked up at the boat trailer...Willy, you better be careful or she gonna stomp a mudhole in you....jfo

Yeah Willy, Nana up and told me to my face at the last Showdown that she was gonna fish my hole and win the tournament. Man, you got a good woman who can throw a cast net AND predict the future! We are all in deep deep trouble! :-)

I have no info on Kerr bait. Haven't thrown the net there in over a month now.
