What do you guys think this cold front will do to Conroe? Do you think it will be cold enough to push the shad deeper along with the catfish? Or do you think it will have no affect on the lake?
Thanks,
Robert

If anyone has plans to hit the lake this weekend, I'd like to meet up with you. I have my own boat. I've been to Conroe twice and Livingston once in the last two months and only caught 3 fish total. I could use some direction, LOL!
What kinda boat, and what do you cook for on the lake meals? :D

Lil 16' cat. Usually the on boat meals consist of turkey, bacon, cheese, mustard sammichs with chips. Or, some Popeye's spicy fried chicken and cole slaw.

I just found out that the kids are out of school on Friday. So that will probably be the day we give it a try. I just hate to drive 1 1/2 hours to get to Conroe and have a bad day when the kids are with me. Not to mention the dang gas prices keep going up. But all in all I will still have to give it a try.
A 16 foot cat?
It's pretty likely I'll be around out there, if it's not possible to meet up I can give you some info about patterns to follow.

yup! big enough for two!
Never seen one that small before, what make is it? I thought true cats like that were made mostly for offshore use.

Aquasport made it. although it is small compared to what you would expect, it sees very little fresh water! Just waiting for the weather to straighten out before I hit the coast.

Cats o Lies, this year I caught more fish off the banks than on my boat. My wife keeps telling I do more good going to fish market. I usually reply back "if you want old/spoiled meat go to the market. I'm bring fresh meat."

I wish I could make the trip this weekend. But, with Good Friday and Easter we are pretty busy.
If you go alone, fish shallow (18"-4ft) along windblown banks, points and bulkheads. Early a.m. on the bulkheads, if you haven't gottena bite in 10-15 minutes, move.

I went to conroe monday the 9th and it was slow. A week earlier I had nonstop action on a bulkhead. This week could not get a bite. Ended the day with only 2 cats.

I was on Conroe on Friday only caught 6. All in water 15 ft. Nothing large all about 18 inches. It was better than working.

I heard after that front came through the bite slowed down just about everywhere.
But, isn't that what always happens after a front? :(
We ended up with a full cooler, but we had to work for them. The bulkhead bite in the morning Friday was fair at best, even though there were shad on the wall. The hybrids were still biting though.
Thursday night we targeted big catfish and hybrids with rod and reel, and ended up with 4 hybrids, a 12 pound cpr, and probably 15 eaters or so. We added another 20 eaters or so after daylight, took a nap and had lunch, then put another 12 or 15 in the box that evening before we got blown off the water.

Yep thats what I was thinking about the front. But as of right now next weekend doesn't look bad. Except for the 10-15 mph wind. Keeping my fingers crossed for next Saturday. Thanks guys for the info.
Thanks,
Robert

Fished 1097 rocks for 2hrs on Sunday (pm) and only ended up w/ 4 channel cats (18-20"). Used cork set to 4' and a chunk of shad. Had a few take the cork under but didn't get a good hookset, probaly dinks.
