I second, third, fourth, and fifth Danny Kings Punch Bait. We use the garlic and smoke the catfish at ponds and lakes. Not much luck in rivers though I think the current moves the sent away too quick. Great product for fishing. I use #4 trebile with the spring coiled on it to hold the bait. Good Luck !

For off the shelf bait I think Danny Kings is really good and now most Wal Marts carry it...
There are some much better mail order baits though..in my opinion..

To my knowledge Academy doesn't carry Danny King's. But, I think they carry CJ's. It's just as good (maybe better).

The first time I ever used Mr. Whiskers was when we fished together a couple of weeks ago, and I really liked the bait. In fact, I prefer the consistency over SureShot. I guess I'm gonna have to order me some.
How can folks get it?

Buy a cast net, catch shad.

Mr. Whiskers is good bait. I use the cheese but he also sells blood bait too. His phone number is 817-326-5719 He is in Grandbury Texas... try this web ID....
http://dcregistry.com/users/whiskers/ I have used it several years and have really had some good results. Good luck..
I order right from Danny himself, always have. I have also used Benny's bait (sureshot) and I like it as well. The only reason I don't currently have a gallon of it is because Benny doesn't do online purchase and I am too lazy to send a check. I have two qts of Don's catfish bait, it's not as consistent as Danny's and doesn't seem to have the fat in it that keeps the bait on the hook.
I limited on Danny's bait today in just a few hours. I have been using Danny's bait for a long time.
Then there's Marv's cheesebait that's a favorite among many that fish Calaveras.
Most of these baits will catch fish. The difference, to me anyhow, is the consistency, packaging and availability. Price is not such a big deal, but I won't pay the "Catfish Juju" prices for anything.
Whatever happened to that bait anyhow?

This bait is available at Academy and it is a very good bait. I use Bill's or Sure Shot and will put either of them up against shad for eating sized channels and blues.
If you decide to use Bill's, PM me and I will give you a tip that makes it work better.
