Rough Fish Bonaza (somerville spillway)

fished somerville spillwasy daylight 3-22, caught 1 2lb shad 14 gasper gooos, one 4 lb blue. 3 keeper whites , 5 undersized, 3 keeper crappie and 3 undersized, one 3 ft gar two 10 lb plus buffs all in 2 hrs on the rocks. All caught on minnows and cut from the main lake. goood morning after work all on 8 lb line and crappie gear

I bet those buffalos put up a fight, i know the big ones fight hard when we shoot em.

yep i will be on the rocks before daylight if i can get a spot 14 goos and 3 crappie one channel this ,am saw a guy carrying what had to be a 20 plus blue up the hill but there were a few more people that didnt know what they were doing enough to tick you off. But i will be there look for a 6'3 300 pound guy in a camo hat and a&m uniforn shirt and thats me

Somerville spillway brings back memories. Back in college we used to throw 3-4" pearl sassy shad up into the whitewater...let 'em sink...then bring 'em in slow. Hybrids would hammer 'em.

sunked today 3rd days not the charm 2goos, 2 crappie and one dink hybrid but id caught about a dozen vietnamese.

how far down were you ? yeah those something somethings with surfrods and zebco 33's made it not worth to fight shoulder to shoulder so we cut bait at about 8.30ish and went a fished 2 creeks over by apache, days like today are why i bought a boat
