View Full Version : a few pics from todays Shriners toy run
No rain, but it was a bit on the cold side. When we got down there, it was all worth it. If you have never done one of these runs, and get the chance, don't miss it. It will change your life forever.

hey mont,
thanks for the pics.... looks like a great time... wanted to make it, especially since the rain never showed up, but spent until 2:00 pm in a root cause investigation at work.... kept looking at the clock and by 1100 i knew i wasn't going to make it... hopefully will be able to make the next run....

When I decided to make this run, I have to be honest, I was thinking that it would be fun to ride with some good folks and help out some unfortunate kiddos in the process.
After leaving LaMarque with I'm guessin' anywhere from 500 to a 1,000 thousand bikes and folks gathered on the side of the streets waving and cheering us on....I thought it could get no better....I was wrong.
Once we arrived and I got to witness first hand what this entire ride was REALLY about....I almost couldn't contain myself....I was glassy eyed for sure!
God bless those kids!

I know what you mean Darrell. Joe apparently forgot and started the project of running power to the shed, so I got stuck helping dig a 120 foot trench from the pole to the shed. I wanted to go on the toy run, and had PROMISED we'd be there, but I can't even hold that crotch rocket of his up, let alone drive it, so without him, I was stuck.
Sorry I missed it Mont, I was trying to be there!
I'm happy so many folks DID make it, and the kids weren't let down. I hope the little sweethearts have a great Christmas.
