Our schedules finally got cleared and I got to take my ol man fishing at Calaveras today. It's been almost a year since we last went together..toolong. I invited my best friend and Iraq bud Eric along and we fished from 830-1230.
Fishing was phenemonal , ecpsecially since dad was able to go and get on the water. We stopped at a 75 fish limit up to 6.5 lbs with majority of the fish being good sized fish. All fish were caught in abotu 1.5 ft of water using Danny King's blood punchbait...they just couldn't stop eating it. Ifrst time my dad had fished with punhcbait and he "acquired " one of my cans at the cleaning station.LOL.
I couldn't have asked for a better trip or day to be on the water with Pop and Eric. We made some memories for a lifetime today and at one point he just stopped and watched us fish for about 20 mintues...said he had enough and just wanted to soak it in.:) He liked the new boat alot and it helped him with his bad hip and allowed him to fish longer and relax and enjoy himself. Here's the pics and just wanted to say thanks dad for getting me "hooked" as a youngster.
It's meant the world to me.

thanks gentlemen, shawn the boat is more than I veer expected and I love it.
One of the main reasons I got it is so my dad's health , to allow him to stay out longer and be more comfortable...mission accomplished.
Thanks again gents and hope yall can do the same with your loved ones soon!

Nice haul Cliff, good to see you having some fun out there with your dad.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get those overalls? I would like a pair of them. They look like they would keep the blood and guts off my clothes so I don't get it in the truck when I leave.

Katman. It's actually a bibbed rained suit made by Columbia. I got the jacket and bibs for around 69.00 or 79.00 at BPS in Katy 2 yrs ago and they still are going strong.
They aren't hot to wear and have lasted awhile, no tears.
I've used this pair in AK,Landcut, Calaveras and they are still going strong.
I always got em' on...lol. But yes sir, I wear them for excatly what you were describing. Helps keep my truck a little less fishy when I take the wife out later that night after a day on the water.:)

Thanks for the link! I think I will go by Cabelas because I need to try one on to see what size I need and BPS is too far away!

I got to do the same thing with my Dad a couple of weeks ago at Fayette and we had a blast. Thanks for the tip on the rainsuit. I'm gonna have to get me a set! The new BPS here in SA is way too close to my house for my wallet!
