E-season????

Has anyone been since the opening or better yet has anyone seen any birds that would justify breaking out ol' Johnny Stewart? I think the birds have mostly departed to the North. We sure don't have enough to justify setting up a spread around Alvin-Liverpool.

I don't think they have left yet. I think they are just in non-traditional areas due to so much water. Don't give up yet, the best is yet to come. At least that is what a lot are saying.


I have been once, last saturday and we had plenty of birds, just no shooters or weather. still managed to kill 10.

Give it another week or two. When there is no one hunting anymore and the birds start moving in from down the coast and Mexico, you can have some great hunting mid to late month if you catch it right.

been a couple of times this year and it was tough. we have run a couple of parties with very little success. got some reports today that the birds from the coast are moving back in. so hopefully by next week it will be prime time.

Ive gone & scouted 3 times in the last 7 days..
theres quite a few birds out there, But they just refuse to get off the roosts..
Guess the weathers just to pretty for them.
Im givin it 2 more weeks..then I putting all my gear away & goin fish'n

Steve, I was out the last week of duck season and there were a ton of birds coming off of the 3000 headed accross the ponds. Scotty & I managed to take a couple just pass shooting from 2101. Teh numbers weren't like during duck season but there were a very huntable amount of geese in the air.

Scott- yeah, I saw those birds too. They were very comfy right by the gate (3,ooo). Had planned to hunt them on that Saturday, but was not able to go. Someone did hunt them and got 7 for the effort. Since then I have not seen nor heard a goose and others have told me the same.

This is from last saturday Blue bird day but we got eight and the e-call crapped out on us before 8 o'clock (battery malfunction :headknock )
