I know nothing about RC and need some help

Dad expressed interest in getting an RC helicopter and we were looking at getting him one as a gift but I don't know jack about RC. Where in the Tyler area can I get one? What is the ballpark figure price wise? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Before you go out and get any heli, do yourself a favor and buy Great Planes Fight Simulator.
I spent about three month on my simulator before I bought my first heli. I found a local pro at our field and he helped me set it up. After the set up and break in of the engine we put on the training gear and gave it a whirl.....
He was surprised that I was able to hover on my first try. Remember this is after he trimmed the heli.
I can say that if I didn't have the time on the simulator I probably wound have crashed.
