I over heard two guys fishing in Galveston a few weeks ago and they were talking about if a new pond is dug out and stocked by the state on EVEN private land it can be fished on for two years by the public.
He even said there was a listing that showed this information and that it isnt a well known law.
Does anyone know about this????

Some points to ponder -
TPW does not stock private tanks. Many confuse this with the Texas Aquaculture Association. This is an association that spans commercial production of fish. Key word being commercial. These folks can help you get grants to stock your pond/tank. Most likely it will need be for commercial reasons. Kind of like a Chamber of Commerce or Industry Trade Association for people who deal in fish (and the like.)
There is a list, sorted by Zipcode of people who have rec'd aid. They are a contact - it doesn't say anywhere that you can go and fish their tanks.
That said and done - you won't catch me jumpin' a man's fence in the wee hours of dawn to fish his stock tank - no matter who paid to put the fish in it!
Here's the TPW website:
