So I finally have temporary living situation that permits me to race toy cars again. And with that I got a new RC12L4. Out of chance I hear that mikes is opening a carpet track. So uhhh Who wants to do some 1/12 scale racing when I come back?
Hey Bro! SWEET setup on the 1/12th scaler! I'm not sure if Mike is done with that "above the pit" indoor carpet track or not? Personally, I've been hearing about the track for a while and thought for sure that it would be done before the offroad track they built, but I don't think that happened.
I wouldn't mind doing some 1/12th scale racing at all! Just a matter of time and do we really have the facilities.........
Hope you are doing well and everything is going good!
Peace!

I hear that 12th scale is one of the most fun classes to race. Can you be competitive without having the best high dollar stuff?

Looks good Josh, can't believe you went brushless. Not sure what the ETA is on the 1/12 track here. But if you come down there's some off-road electric going on. Binson, Mark Morrow, Phil, Ronnie, Smiley, etc. have all been running, some other folks also.
After I got off the phone with ya I started looking at 12ers again. lol
3mm ride height and back the tweak screws just out enough so they dont touch the chassis.

1/12th scale is a hoot. These cars are so hooked up they will exersize your hand/eye coordination big time. And they are cheap.

You kidding chris??? lol You know me Im famous for having the most ghetto car on the track. IM CHEAP. Now that I have money I would still rather pay less in the long run. Anywho... I'll let you guys know how it works out with the brushless, and the racing and all... I cant wait to sit this thing down on the track.
And as for Electric offroad..... Dont tease me. lol

Brushless is cool, just not sure they quite have all the bugs worked out of it yet. Can you say GRENADE?! Hee hee hee. Team Checkpoint good. Wait till Josh finds out I actually put a Losi in my stable.

Ha ha ha ha ha. I knew that would get your attention! XXX-4. I'd love to have a BJ4 or the new Tamiya, but at 5 bills plus for a kit it just wasn't happening. I bought this one used and threw a 10 x 1 Hara Revolution and GM SX-12W speedo that I already had into it. Drove it for the first time Friday. It was fast everywhere but the whoops, it was a mess there. Try to get out there this week and see if I can't get the setup better. Fun to drive though. By the time you make it down here I'll probably have enough spare parts to let you drive it, LOL. BTW, your boy Jesse Robbers had a heckuva run at CRCRC, looks like he and Pudge really duked it out.

Josh,
Good lookin ride. I have always liked that style on-road body. Reminds me of back in the day when Jim Hall from Midland, TX was racing his Chapparal 2C in the Can-Am Series (that was the 1960s). Even the same slick white color.
Don't know about you road course guys, but I leave the body posts long on my rail for when it gets upside down (Oh, I hope not...!). Saves the body...and the antenna pipe.
May I suggest you consider bringing it out to the drags sometime and get a scale quarter mile E.T. and speed on it? I'll be interested in hearing how the BL performs. I'm kinda looking into the MambaMax combo for the rail myself. Holding back on buying until I see when the major RC drag sanctioning org relaxes its Li-po/Li-ion restrictions. I like the Hypersonic Li-ion/Turbo package as a companion to the MambaMax. But then I'll need a lighter chassis, and..., and...you know the drill.
BTW-welcome back to RC racing. Any racing is good racing.

Supposedly, that is exactly why Losi re-released the XX-4 - that car supposedly is better setup to handle the rough track setups and what not. In fact, that is what was raced at the worlds, if I'm not mistaken - not the newer XXX-4. Of course the world track is always rough and a bit more technical any way.
Nice to hear you are giving the Losi a try though! Hope you find the sweet spot on that car!
Have fun!

Losi also won a Worlds with the XXX-4, I think a lot of it depends on the track. The XXX-4 accelerates like a 1/8, it's just instant and the XX-4 doesn't. It will also out corner the XX-4. But, it's a very low slung car and I think the problems come from chassis slap.

By the look of that picture I can tell Josh's body trimming skills have not gone away... Did you use your newly appointed Rambo Knife to cut those wheel wells out??? 'Sup buddy!

'Sup buddy!HAHA yeah I never really did care too much about that huh? lol It just so happends that I did the wheels wells with a box cutter knife. hahaha Gets better. Notice the side skirt it kinda high? There were two lines on the body apparently looking at the othere pctures looks like I took a lil too much off the bottom. lol But I bet Im not gunna have any rubbing issues.
Works better with Paragon huh? LOL
Glad you called bro. Take pics this weekend.
This is the car I was telling you about.

Some New pictures for you guys.
Nice job on the colors on the new body bro! And it looks like you have been doing a little rubbin......NICE! Where are you racing that thing?
Always good to hear from you sailor!

He's been racing at Debbies up in Va. http://www.debbiesrcworld.com/indoor_carpet_track.htm
And judging by the black marks on the fron of the new body, Im guessing pulling too much leever. :slimer:

Cool! Nice little setup too! Would be nice if we had an indoor carpet track like that here. :)
And yeah, those rubbin marks are either wall marks or other car marks - regardless, a little too much leeever. Biggie would probably argue not enough in his case. hehehehe

Yeah. When have I ever been scared of going fast. That right there is me not caring if my body is new or not... As long as I can make it get around the track really fast. Nobody gets near me around here so its obviosly walls marks. The walls are lined with wood so if you brush a wall then you got a new addition to your paint scheme.
