I fished Conroe yesterday morning. Put in at the Scott's Ridge ramp off of 1097. I was looking for some black bass but didn't have any luck. Moved over to the stumps in just north of the ramp. Lot of hits on the fish finder. I caught a fairly nice 2 lb cat jigging a silver spoon just off the bottom.

Saw a lot of boats out there but did not see anybody hooked up at all. Kinda slow. Kept trying to rain on me. Fished from 7:00am to 3:00pm. Only one caught and kept.

The camoflauged duck hunters got a little pizzed when I was trolling by working the grass banks. The guys started yelling and firing off their guns around me.

What is up with that? What is the rule in a situation like that? I could not see the guys as they were in a duck blind. They are not making any noise and I come floating near trying to find the fish. They instantly go nuts and I am the one getting all the bad names and stuff.

Also, I drove thru an area where some guys were kayaking through floating flocks of ducks and shooting them up pretty good. I got pretty pizzed when I saw about forty to fifty empty shells floating in the water. Why not police up your empty shells once you get done shooting?

Don't mean to rant. Just don't like seeing a bunch of trash left in the water.

Had a great time by myself. Very quiet, no future brother in laws to worry about. Time to get things off and out of my mind. Tight lines guys.

You better know it John. I am sure my wife will pretty much make a fool out of me. I have had one heck of a slump lately. We will be there Firday afternoon. I have cabin number 26. Don't laugh if I am the only guy with a bay boat...lol

So, you were the guy who messed up our great duck hunting set-up!!!

Just kidding...it is difficult when purposes differ...but no reason not to be civil about it...not like it would ruin the entire day and not much different that if the hunters had shot a duck and gone out after it...

I thought I was being pretty thoughtful. I saw the guys in the kayaks shooting up the flocks. I gave them all the room they wanted. I just could not see or hear the guys in the duck blind, at least not until they started yelling and screaming at me. I did quietly pack up and leave the area as quickly and quietly as I could. I used the trolling motor to get some distance away before I started the outboard and hitailed it outta there.

I found myself yelling at the bank at every other spot to call out to any other potential hunters.
