I guess the next step would be getting one of them Scuba license plates for the front of the truck and some spiffy sticker for the back.
Qualified no problems, water temp wasn't even that bad with a 7mm suit. Sheila Shelton from Scuba Sports here in Katy was my PADI dive instructor. If anyone is thinking of getting their certification I would highly highly recommend her. A pure pleasure to work with and great at answering any questions I had. She was very attentive and very concerned with every stage and my comfort, so I would trust my kids with her. Nothing was that difficult for me to get an instant grip on, of course it didn't hurt that I do gas compression engineering for a living!

I will be watching the weather closely for the next few months, going to try to get out of my buddies place in Matagorda to some rigs and do some spearfishing.

Anyone care to join me?

Guess I don't have to worry about how deep I can dive on one breath now!

How cold is the water temp now? I haven't dove this year due to the very low lake levels in Austin area, and I've spent most of my time surf fishing, but I dove off the coast last year around the rigs and was astounded at the marine life there. Watch out for the cudas. Where by Matagorda you trying to go?

Congradulations on your dive certification. Getting the front plate and dive flag stickers is somewhat of an invitation to theives. Sorta of like saying I am a diver and in my truck is some good gear to steal.

Congrats on getting certified!

Scuba spearing is very intense, quite a bit of things to keep track of, but if you've been freedive spearing you'll have a good amount of experience already.

Lets go! I'm down to go plug some fish!

And the only thing you need to look out for with cudas is the ones in the 3'-4' range. Good eatin!
