Funny how no one really discusses the Rockets on this forum.
I hardly watch them lately, but I turned it on tonight for the San Antonio game and they're playing a heluva game!
Yao is a monster and Bonzi is picking up the slack for McGrady. They're playing like a team is supposed to play.

Rockets had lost 17 in a row to the spurs until tonight. Nice win for the rockets over the spurs.

Spurs got punked! The spurs streak is over and the rockets are going to start one of their own. Duncan is getting old and their reign is over, dont look for them to do much. lol i love the rockets fans who think because the rockets won one good game against the spurs that the spurs are done and the rockets are world champs or something. the truth is the rockets need a new coach and then maybe they could do something. oh and yao didnt have a great game, he was average but the rest of the team steped up well. it was a good win but come on there is no way the rockets could sustain that all season.look at how they play everywhere else. oh and so much for the season with yao out and t-mac is a joke he needs to go

One win who cares. It should have been 2. The Mavs are the class in the division right now. Pretty focused and cosistant.Have 1 streak and then another. Spurs fan act like b/c they won three titles in the past whenever they lose it is b/c they did not play well and not b/c the other team beat them strait up. (see last years WCF) When Yao went down I said there goes the season. Six weeks is gonna hurt. He was/is definately on the short list for MVP. Name another player who can stop him? Djop? Oh boy ohberto? Shaq? Wallace? Labron? Short list so far Kobe, Arenas, and Yao. He did NOT have a monster game against the spurs, but who needs to when your supporting cast is sooo hot. Nice 15 spot in the 2nd spurs. Rockets D is that good. They are on you like stink on the river dump. Its 1 game who cares in the playoffs is when it counts and all three will be there.

well actually it was the semi's last season. and the mavs are the class of the league. last time i checked the spurs have the best record. and utah has beaten EVERYONE. the spurs did win 3 and the rockets won 2 so what. that was along time ago, and the spurs are still going. the mavs had one 12 game win streak and yet they are still behind. the spurs like to do it in spurts of 5, they win 5 then lose one then 5 or 6 then lose one then another 5 and so on. not 3 not 4 just one. and the rockets do have a good defence 1st in the league and the spurs are second in that class. spurs also have the largest winning margin in the league so all of you guys who knock them, go right on ahead and we will see you at the parade down our "muddy nasty river" for the championship celebration when we win #4 this year.
mavs=second place as ussual, rockets= lotery again,(maybe they can loose so much now that their only player that is worth anything is out, that they can get into the greg oden sweepsteaks alond with memphis, NY, and philly.

largest winning margin means that they are WINNING. loss margin goes against them in the win side too, brings the average down. You dont win anything for it but you get it by winning. I do agree that TD needs to wake up, maybe we should send over some starbucks or a case of monster.

Rockets are going to punk the spurs for several years to come, they are on a decline in their success, duncan is getting old and the rest of their players are a bunch of overachievers, basically scrubs. better see if the little mermaid can come back for the end of the season because their going to need him.

ps, I think yao could be a great player along with mcgrady but the coaching is horrible. why spread it out to a bunch of guys that cant get it done. take yao to the hole and do it as much as possible. with outside shooters like mcgrady(when he isnt riding the pine) you will have to leave someone open, or two guys with a double team on yao or t-mac.

Van Gundy is a great coach if you had heard his interviews on the radio during the off season you could see this guy is a guy you want to play hard for and eventually the rockets will do just that, if we could stay healthy.

Yeah the Rockets stink. :confused: . So the Spurs don't spread it around. If they did'nt then Edward J. Popovich would be a horriable coach. He isn't he is a smart coach and knows TD and whoever else yall have can't do it by them selves. T-Mac is "riding the pine" b/c he's hurt :headknock . And now Yao will be "riding the pine." It's a long season and the spurs will soon find out about players "riding the pine." ie hurt.

t-mac is always hurt. i bet he comes back real soon with a "full" recovery now that yao is out and cant steal his thunder. the guy gets hurt every time yao plays well, hmmmmmm sounds like a spoild brat who cant share the spotlite. the rockets will go no where with JVG. i listen to sports radio610 all the time and i dont hear anything out of him that you would not hear from any other coach. thing is he doesnt win much. he is not a good coach if he was he would not have been to proud to let bonzi play earlier in the season. now they need him BAD and he is not "aclimated" to the team. he is ALWAYS making excusses and never gets anything resolved. if you put the players he has with a good coach like pop or jackson or larry brown they would win sooo much more. maybe even a tittle or two. JVG is always losing. even the year he took the knicks to the finals (which SA beat them that year) theywere not a great team just had some talent but talent only goes so far. the thing thatmakes the spurs so good is not the players themselves but the way pop puts the pieces together. jvg cant put them together. pop would not have sat bonzi for 20 games over some BS he would have told him up front you dont like the way we do things then dont sign. (bonzi has issues notice the spurs didnt even bother talking to him in the off season) spurs get players that will buy into the system and it works. TD has 3 rings and they were all with different people. pop fits them together and it works andnext year there will be different people and they will be in contention again. its what he does. thats why the spurs have the best winning % in the last 10 years in all of sports.

I am not a big BB fan, but the Rockets have started putting it together and now Yao gets injured and out for 6+ weeks, BUMMER. It is fun watching Yao take to the hoop, an Hakeem he is not but the dude can shoot and play ball. I sure hope he can recover in time to help the Rockets get into the playoffs.

Management made that Bonsi descision and the guy is an azzz. Now he's a solid contributer to a much improved Rockets team.
