I have bought a Micron 10 filter set up and am curious where to mount it? My boat is a 2170 Blazer Bay!

The other question fact or fiction? Was told yesterday that the grey fuel hose will breakdown when using the new etanol based fuels?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Regards,

Topwater

Just not familiar with the layout. Can you access the fuel line from the rear hatch? Your fuel tank is in the floor right?

Mount it between the tank and the primer bulb. (If it is an outboard.)

Don't know anything about that kind of fuel line. I think the ethanol resistant fuel line these days say so right on it.

Which filter housing do you have? I have a large Racor filter that I mounted on the transom directly above the bilge drain. Access is thru the center hatch in front of the motor. I have seen smaller filters than the one I have that could be mounted in other
locations.

Dutch Treat is correct... the filter should be upstream of the primer bulb.

Mount it to where you can hold a cup under the drain so you can clean it without filling your bilge with gas...

Hear say is that the grey fuel line has a liner that will get soft and collapse with the new fuel. Didn't ever like it any how , it gets hard and stiff in the sun.
The filter can go anywhere between the tank and motor, but the fuel bulb will push gas better than it will suck air through a empty filter, if thats possible on your boat.

I agree with BrokeMotor. I put the seperator between the bulb and the motor.

forgot to mention it is the racor

Thanks for the advice, i will mount it under my hatch next to the oil resivor, in addition to changing my fuel lines to the solid black rubber hose.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Not sure of your layout, but depending on which version of the housing you have, you may have to mount it outside. You cannot mount the see through (all plastic) version in an inclosed area, that requires the all metal version.

I have the Racor with the metal housing and the clear catch on the bottom of the filter!

I figure i will get a 2" piece of angle 6inches long and mount it under the deck next to my oil resivor.

thanks again for all of your advice

Is this your Boat -Above or Below? (from Blazer Bay site)

Top photo - Mount on Transom or side wall to rear sea (boxed?)t. You want it as accessable as possible
Bottom Photo, mount under rear hatch. As mentioned, make sure you can access the bottom or the seperator easily and put a cup there.
